The 4-3 London Lightning will open a two-game weekend homestand on Saturday against a familiar foe in the 2-4 KW Titans.
Coming off of a five-day rest, Saturday’s tilt will be London’s third-straight against KW after splitting a home-and-home series with their Central Division rival last weekend.
After a somewhat comfortable 113-109 win over the Titans at home, Kyle Julius’ side went to KW looking for their first true winning streak of the short season. However, they were bested in OT — dropping a 126-116 decision after a lackluster bonus frame.
The Titans come into Saturday’s game reeling from two losses to the Windsor Express on Tuesday and Friday. The expansion side failed to get their perimeter shooting going in both games, dropping a 114-108 decision at home and a 102-99 result in Windsor on Friday.
All eyes will once again be on Royce White. The reigning Central Division Player of the Week recorded back-to-back triple-doubles against KW last weekend. Head Coach Serge Langis will have his work cut out to limit the 6’8” forward on Saturday.
The Titans’ will hope to frustrate the Bolts down the stretch if they want to take the win on Saturday. Sunday’s win over London was a team effort — with seven players ending in double-digit scoring. KW also forced London to record 33 fouls across their nine-player roster. Limiting London’s physical play will be at the top of the agenda for the expansion side.
The Bolts will be in action again on Sunday afternoon when they host the Windsor Express.
Saturday’s game is brought to you by Oxford Dodge.
Tip-off for Saturday’s game has been set for 7 p.m. Tickets are still available online and at the Budweiser Gardens box office.
