The London Lightning (16-3) are on the road again, taking on the Cape Breton Highlanders (6-11) today in the second game of their Eastern road trip.
The Lightning will be looking to make history in Cape Breton, trying to become the first team to extend their win streak past 12 games, as they look for their thirteenth win today.
The Highlanders are the the newest team in the Atlantic Conference, playing in their first NBLC season. While the team has been going through the usual expansion growing pains, they’ve been much stronger lately, winning four of their last seven games. The team should also be well rested after taking a five day break after their recent road trip.
Booker Woodfox has been a standout for the Highlanders so far this season. The Creighton grad leads the team in scoring, while shooting a very efficient 41% from beyond the arc.
The Highlanders will also need to lean heavily on Chadrack Lufile. The big man will have his hands full with London’s front court combo of Royce White and Julian Boyd.
Look for turnovers to play a big part in deciding a winner. London currently has the best turnover margin in the league, while Cape Breton has the worst. The same goes for steals with London averaging a league best 11 steals per game, and Cape Breton with a league low 6 steals per game.
