The London Lightning and Windsor Express will renew hostilities Wednesday night in Windsor — only three days after the 401 rivals played out a cagey affair in London.
The Bolts won Sunday’s matchup 106-99 — but not before things became heated, ultimately setting up a fascinating rematch on Wednesday.
London (6-3) was in control for much of the game on Sunday, but Windsor (3-5) did end up bringing it close, narrowing the lead down to as few as four points in the fourth. DeAndre Thomas gave the Lightning fits in his season debut, but the Bolts were able to close out, largely in part to Ryan Anderson’s game-high 32 points.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, Head Coach Kyle Julius will hope his star frontcourt can somehow stay out of foul trouble again. Julian Boyd and Royce White didn’t foul out until the closing minutes of Sunday’s game, despite a very physical battle and chippy battle on the court.
Wednesday’s game will be Thomas’ first in Windsor this season. The oversized centre put up 15 points in his first game back from a major knee injury.
A win on Wednesday would give the Bolts their first winning streak of the short 2016/17 NBLC season.
Tip-off has been set for 7 p.m. You can watch the game below.
